Contract
We’re looking for a Signalling Senior Project Engineer for a 6-month contract role with Network Rail. This is largely remote based but will require the occasional site visit within the South East.
As Signalling Senior Project Engineer, you will:
- Lead and manage the use of appropriate engineering standards in relation to design and construction, on all projects within the national programme so they comply with legislation, Railway Group, Network Rail and Network Rail (High Speed) company standards, and monitor whether suitably qualified and experienced staff are employed to control engineering aspects of all projects within the functional discipline.
- Act as Designated Project Engineer and/or Project Engineer for Signalling related projects or those with a Signalling input, implementing Network Rail (High Speed) systems and procedures to deliver a cost effective, high quality and safe approach to design, construction, commissioning and other technical activities on relevant projects.
- Monitor the competence of all Project Engineers working on projects within the functional discipline and provide functional guidance, direction and briefing, along with applying engineering controls and procedures to all projects so all design and construction contracts include reference to appropriate Railway Group and Network Rail Company standards applicable to their discipline.
- Apply relevant techniques and procedures of quantified and qualitative risk assessment and HAZOP analysis to all projects and check whether the environmental aspects of all projects are managed in accordance with Network RAIL (High Speed) Environmental Policy.
- Ensure projects are monitored for compliance and advise project and programme management in respect of all construction activities, testing and commissioning, and site supervision.
- Undertake reviews of design and construction activities.
- Arrange audits of contractors to monitor whether safety and quality of design, construction testing and commissioning and management systems are adequate.
You will:
- Have extensive experience as a Project Engineer with signalling systems experience including technical knowledge of TVM and KVB.
- Have technical knowledge of points and points actuation systems.
- Have experience taking PE or DPE role in Network Rail.
