Signalling Design Verifier

We are currently dealing with a leading multidisciplinary railway infrastructure contractor who is looking to expand their team in York by recruiting a Signalling Design Verifier to join their Signalling Design Team. Within this position, you will be working amongst multi-disciplinary specialist teams, working on some of the UKs largest rail projects.  As Signalling Design Verifier, you must be committed to meeting projects on time, safely and within budget. As a Signalling Design Verifier, you must be aware of using AutoCAD and MicroStation system tools to enable the delivery of designs directly to clients desktop, helping to share concepts and expediting the approval process, which ultimately helps to save time and money.

As Signalling Design Verifier, you will work on complex signalling desk projects which will include signalling design and interlocking principles, components, and fabrication methods. Within this position, you will be leading a signalling application engineering team to deliver design details to time, safety, and specification. You will be responsible for the verification and validation of detailed design drawings and liaising with the design manager to set up programmes and objectives, whilst interfacing with the client as well as the testing and installation departments. You will have experience within managing production, checking and approval of feasibility, outline and detailed signalling principles design and calculations. Also, you will have extensive knowledge of railway systems and related operating practices, along with their key interactions with other railway assets. As Signalling Design Verifier, you will also be responsible for performing quality control reviews of work developed by others, as well as mentoring junior designers.

Job requirements:

• IRSE Signalling Design Verifier licence (1.1.160)
• IRSE Signalling Design Licence (1.1.510)
• Experience as Signalling Designer (Principles)
• AutoCAD and MicroStation experience
• Excellent communication skills

As mentioned, this role as Signalling Design Verifier is based in York, but are offering a hybrid-working approach, with a split between both home and office working, so would be ideal for candidates living further afield in the surrounding areas such as Leeds, Hull, or Huddersfield.
