The Signalling Engineer will work as part of our multidisciplinary team to provide valuable support with complex signalling design projects. The successful candidate will also manage the production, checking and approval of feasibility studies, outline & detailed design, as well as participating in the development of technical proposals.

Missions & Main Activities
We are currently expanding in the UK and Ireland, growing our business and our team. One of the exciting projects the Signalling Engineer will work on relates to the execution of the Birmingham tramway network extension contract. The aim of this once-renewable five-year contract is to construct 4 km of new line in the coming three years (three extensions) and an additional 15 km in the following five years (one additional lines).
Our rapid expansion includes working with West Midland Combined Authority in a partnership agreement called "The Midland Metro Alliance" which brings together the Prime Contractor, the Construction Consortium and the Engineering Office and leading The Design Manage Service for Network Rail.

Key Responsibilities
The main duties and responsibilities of the Signalling Engineer are:
- Production of signalling concept, preliminary & detailed designs (GRIP 2 – GRIP 5)
- Verifying and/leading the production of signalling design (GRIP 2 – GRIP 5).
- Controlling quality and ensuring targets are achieved and deliverables meet the requirement/expectations.
- Providing safety-related signalling design deliverables at both a principle and system level.
- Development of junior team members.
- Assisting with the preparation of bids for winning new work.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- University Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- IRSE 1.1.550 - Principles Design License
- IRSE 1.1.160 - Signalling Design Verifier License
- Computer skills including CAD
- Extensive experience in Signalling Design
- Experience as a Principal Signalling Design Engineer
- Experience as a CRE Signalling
- Strong working knowledge of Network Rail’s standards and processes

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- A1 Assessor - IRSE Workplace & Competency Assessor
- Member of the IRSE or other recognised professional body
- Chartered Engineer status
- A good understanding of all relevant BIM standards, design procedures and relevant legislation.
- A clear understanding of a multi-disciplinary design approach and the delivery of projects to a high quality, throughout all design stage gates.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a solutions-focused mindset within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and a great team player.
