An opportunity has arisen within our signalling department for a Signalling Maintenance Assistant (Grade 2).
Location: All applications will be considered.
Salary: Dependant on experience.
The Role
To become part of a team delivering signal maintenance and renewals, carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance, and providing 24hr rapid response fault cover at various rail depots nationwide as part of a three person team. The role will require the team to be on call for any signalling equipment failures on a rota of two weeks on, one week off. In addition the successful applicant would be expected to provide signalling support for plain line and S&C renewals as required. An immediate start is available for the right individual.
Essential
• Experience in carrying out signalling maintenance activities;
• Experience in working in 3rd rail areas;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Reliable and flexible;
• Valid PTS & Lookout;
• Full clean UK driving licence;
• Appropriate IRSE licence or working towards.
Desirable
• Basic signalling training BS1/BS2 or equivalent;
• Trained in Clamplock or HW Points;
• Trained in AC or HVI Track Circuits;
• Experience in assisting in points renewals.
