Signalling Principle Tester in Perth, Western Australia, Australia
Based in Perth you will be working for a global signalling provider as a Signalling Principles Tester
You will ideally have either extensive knowledge and experience in Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) OR Conventional signalling principles, test practices and procedures, and strong experience in train control engineering, test & commissioning principles and rail industry best practices
The accountabilities, skills and experience include:
DOCUMENTATION
Complete all relevant documentation required for the testing of a signalling system in accordance with the industry, IMS & client needs by:
- Preparation of Principles Testing Plan's
- Preparation and auditing of test validation documentation
- Ensure the delivery of signalling systems and subsystems in compliance with RAMS and quality Standards and in accordance with schedule and budget
- Guarantee definition of SA&C Plans.
- Ensure correct planning of RAMS and V&V activities
- Ensure correct identification and apportionment of RAMS requirements for signalling applications
- Assist in the execution of preliminary RAMS analyses and provide feedback to the project team (Commencing with the preliminary phases of the project)
VERIFICATION
Guarantee the verification of system requirements in order to confirm compliance with safety and customer requirements, including:
- Verification Signalling Scheme Plan
- Verification of Architecture
- Verification Circuits and plans prepared by others
- Verification of relay based signalling design circuits, processor based signalling design data and Control Tables
VALIDATION
Guarantee the organization, scheduling, implementation and monitoring of test specifications and their execution to independently validate safety-related functions, including:
- Prepare and/or confirm that the tests identified are appropriate in context and extent for the type of technology and signalling system
- Function and Principles Test independently, Mechanical, Relay Based and/or Processor Based Interlockings in accordance with current and client signalling safe working practice
COMPLEX AND CRITICAL SIGNALLING SYSTEMS AND SUBSYSTEMS
Activities include but are not limited to the following:
- Ensure that all conformities identified during V&V activities are recorded, analysed and implemented
- Ensure execution of Safety and RAM analyses, hazard analyses at architectural level, leveraging on knowledge of the application acquired during V&V activities
- Ensure RAM parameters demonstration process
- Guarantee demonstration of compliance with quantitative safety targets, using MTBHE data from architectures and components group
- Contribute to the interface with Independent Safety Assessor, Client and other external Authorities
- Ensure training and mentoring to the SA&C team, including guidance on system RAMS issues and lessons learned
- Ensure periodic review of company safety policy and safety targets
- Ensure compliance of the signalling system and subsystem to the applicable national and international standard
- Support the provision of the Application Conditions and the Hazard Log for the application to relevant System SA&C Engineer
- Ensure the provision of schedule and cost progress to relevant System Assurance Manager
- Ensure the provision of RAMS requirements, if any, and the Hazard Log to relevant Product SA&C Engineer
MANDATORY CRITERIA
- Engineering Degree or Equivalent Technical Engineering Background
- From 10 up to 15 years of Signalling experience and at least 7 Years in Validation
- Application V&V Testing
- International and national conventional signaling Standards
