Signalling Team Leader
London
6 Month Contract
Daily Rate £400

Responsibilities
- Undertake installation work as directed and to project program
- Ensure correct tools, plant and equipment are provided for the task
- Comply with and promote health, quality, safety and environmental instructions
- Effectively communicate task requirements to team
- Motivate staff in the team and any sub-contractors
- Timely completion of tasks
- Undertake COSS/SWL duties as required
- Work towards gaining Signalling Installation Technician IRSE Licence (1.2.220 v2)
- Maintain IRSE logbook
- Attend team, technical and safety briefs. Undertake site visits
- Complete required paperwork for planned work
- Ensure a site diary is kept and site work records are returned to the Construction Manager
- Carry out installation work to Signalling Installation Handbook (SIH) standards
- Understanding of the standards framework
- Take responsibility for staff nominated as being under your control, including sub-contractors
- Ensure that the information used is current, authorised and contains all essential data
About You
Essential
Skills:
- Numerate and literate
- Basic computer operating skills with knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to drive
- Use of Cable Avoidance Tool (CAT scanner)
- Good communication skills
Qualifications
- IRSE licence Signalling Installation Technician (1.2.220 v2)
- COSS or SWL
- Valid PTS with AC/DC
- Emergency first aid
- Manual handling
- Fire safety
- COSHH Appreciation
- Small tools
- Working in confined spacesKnowledge of railway signalling systems and sub-systems
Experience
- Knowledge of appropriate industry standards relating to installation work
- Knowledge of quality, health, safety and environmental Regulations
Desirable
Skills:
- Knowledge of Hazpak documents
- Basic planning
Qualifications:
- Manual handling assessor
- Basic Signalling Technology (BST)
- SMTH
- NVQ level 3
Experience
- Awareness of principles of risk assessment
- Basic knowledge of health, safety, quality & environmental standards
- Awareness of internal auditing
