Reporting to the Manager, Technical Services, the S&C Technical Specialist will provide technical and design expertise and support to the S&C Division at all levels, to safeguard the integrity of the signal plant by ensuring policies, standards, regulations and safe work practices are understood and implemented. The S&C Technical Specialist will also provide coaching and competency follow-up to ensure that awareness, knowledge and practice of safe signaling methodologies are embedded in the workplace culture.

Job Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience gained in Signals & Communications or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Completion of a post-secondary degree in Electrical Engineering or similar would be an asset.
- Thorough understanding of various signaling systems.
- Thorough understanding of crossing warning systems and Transport Canada's RTD-10 and AREMA requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects based on positions scope of work.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and consistently meet expectations.
- Demonstrated management skills including the ability to lead, mentor and motivate employees.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong client relations, influencing skills and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to read, interpret and comprehend drawings and specifications and contract documents.
- Strong supervisory and resource coordination skills.* Mostly works indoors and occasionally works outdoors at construction sites.* May be exposed to live track/trains and loud noise.This job description is not intended to represent a complete, comprehensive list of all duties and responsibilities that may be required in this position.
