Stadler will deliver 42 new Metro trains up to 2024.

The Role – Signalling Technician

Based at Nexus Rail Headquarters, Newcastle upon Tyne, the successful applicant will lead a small team in the routine and fault maintenance of a variety of signalling systems including Route Relay interlocking, Electro-Hydraulic Point Machines, HW 2000 Point Machines, RTMS, SCADA and TDM.

You will be required to have the ability to carry out fault diagnosis and rectification on these and other associated signalling equipment. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate their experience and ability to perform unsupervised and in a professional engineering manner when dealing with Safety Critical

Equipment and be capable of working in accordance with Nexus Procedures.

The Person

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and be able to excel in a role where both safety and performance are critical.

You should hold an appropriate qualification to ONC standard or equivalent in Electrical/ electronic engineering or an equivalent vocational qualification in Railway Signalling. A full driving licence is also essential.

There is a requirement to work a shift roster which provides 24 hour, 365 day cover.
