Rail Site Supervisor / Foreman (Pway / Track)

Salary / Benefits: £35,000 - £42,000 plus van and package.

Company Information:
Working for one of the UK's leading providers of construction and engineering services to the rail network specialising in permanent way, signalling and rail plant.
To be suitable for the position you must have;
- Hands on Experience of Track Maintenance eg, plainline, S&C Level Crossings.
- Working Knowledge of Network Rail standards for the Inspection and Maintenance of Permanent Way - NR/TRK/L2 001 (Essential)
- Held a similar role in the past or have a good background working on track as either a Foreman, supervisor or Maintenance operative etc.
- Be IT literate
- Ideally hold an up to date PTS
Role Information;
- Day to day compliance, management and briefing of routine health, safety and environmental matters (ensuring correct PPE, storage of materials, safe usage and security of plant, conformance to Work Package Plans, Task Briefings, Risk Assessments and Safe System of Work Plan etc.
- Ensure that they as an individual and the people that they are responsible for hold valid competencies to undertake the works that they have been asked to complete.
- Day to day management support to effectively deliver all maintenance work;
- Including rostering of track inspection and maintenance patrollers;
- Ensuring conformance to relevant standards, specifications and client expectations.
- Day to day management of Maintenance Patrollers and Assistant Patrollers.
- Day to day site liaison with customer and third parties regarding job requirements and informing line manager of developments / changes.
- Ensure day to day application of a safe system of work by the maintenance teams including completion of all necessary Trackwork and client documentation.
- Check and approve returned weekly paperwork e.g. time-sheets, inspection reports, UNR reports, day work, call out paperwork, pre-planned works and work permits etc.
- Reporting of injury and environmental incidents and near misses to line manager, entering details in accident book and preparation of initial records where appropriate.
- Check, accept and sign for material deliveries, recording omissions or sub-standard materials and feeding information back to your line manager.
- Accept, check and return plant deliveries, reporting damage to line manager and recording details on delivery/off hire ticket.
- Record details for contract KPI's, delays and additional work etc., obtain client approval signature and inform line manager.
- Carry out site audits on a pre-arranged 12 weekly roster and document and report findings to the line manager.
- Manage the on-call roster and provide on call support as determined by the roster.
- Maintain and record the UNR and Tie bar registers for all sites.
- Complete and submit Engineers Inspections as required to your line manager.
- Attend all "track fault" derailments and complete reports as required.
