SUB AGENT
Job Purpose:
To manage and execute the safe and efficient delivery of an individual section of a contract by managing the site delivery team (Including supply chain).
Responsible for safety, quality, financial performance, programme adherence and client satisfaction.
Reporting to Agent who will be accountable for the safe and successful delivery of the scheme
Technical Competencies:
HNC / Degree in Construction related subject (Minimum Requirement)
Progressing towards chartered status
Personal Track Safety
Site Managers Safety Training Scheme
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Construction
Full UK driving license
Temporary Works Coordinator certificate (Preferable)
NVQ Level 5 Appointed Persons
Ability to work with IT (laptops and tablets) to enable the efficient delivery of the works
Accountabilities
- Develops and maintains excellent communication / relationships with client, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Client satisfaction on the contract.
- Implements actions to improve substandard customer satisfaction.
- Safety performance of contract.
- Lead by example & ensure compliance with industry and company standards
- Plan HSQE into work activities and ensure adequate resources are available to carry out the operations
- Proactive in safety management and be able to chair these in the Agent’s absence
- Deliver Site safety inductions
- Chair Worksafe Meetings.
- Deliver ‘Toolbox Talks’ and safety briefings.
- Carry out regular site inspections.
- Carry out roles and responsibilities as per PMP.
- Review & Update contract risk register.
- Be competent to be appointed as the CRE for the works
- Ensure a project quality plan is developed and implemented.
- Ensures site audits are undertaken and takes appropriate action on the findings.
- Ensure materials and workmanship meet specification.
- Prepare and develop the site ITP’s and ensure they are completed right through the delivery phase of the project
- Maintain a daily site diary.
- Complete monthly supplier feedback forms.
- Control of costs of relevant section of the contract.
- Ensure the cost plan is prepared and monitor cost vs value constantly.
- Review and agree CV with Agent and QS monthly.
- Understand contract conditions with Client and Suppliers, recognise variations to contract and process accordingly.
- Understand and implement the commercial strategy for the contract.
- Ensure Group minimum commercial standards are implemented.
- Set production targets which meet/ beat the allowances.
- Monitor performance against production targets.
- Report against the above weekly.
- Ensure the operational and commercial success of the section of the contract.
- Delivery of contract to agreed programme.
- Have an input into and implement the Project Management Plan.
- Have an involvement into the procurement process including tender, negotiation, order.
- Ensure a project quality plan is developed and implemented.
- Ensures site audits are undertaken and takes appropriate action on the findings.
- Ensure materials and workmanship meet specification.
