We are currently working with one of the region’s leading rail and civil infrastructure contractors with a strong pipeline of work extending well into 2024. They have an opportunity for a Site Agents on a scheme consisting of major infrastructure improvements including the electrification to 172km of track, new structures & Improvements to all 52 stations. The successful candidate will be responsible for Responsible for the safe execution of one or more simultaneous projects from as directed by the Contracts Manager to ensure commercial objectives are met and enhance the reputation of the company.

The Site Agent is accountable for, but not limited to, the following:

• Managing site staff performance in accordance with the company handbook, in conjunction with HR
• Provide Health and safety leadership to your operational delivery teams and promote behavioural safety improvements
• Ensure that the site teams rigorously adhere to Network Rail’s Life Saving Rules and reporting requirements
• Compliance with all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, Network Rail Standards and Eurocodes
• Ensure the policies and procedures of the Rail Management System are fully discharged
• Ensure sufficient and competent resources are in place for the delivery of assigned contracts and business and project objectives are communicated to your team
• Develop and maintain programmes through the project life cycle and ensure works are delivered against the contract programme
• Lead the project risk management process and ensure effective controls are established to support the safe and timely delivery of the project
• Ensure project opportunities are identified and realised to maintain and improve the commercial project performance
• Promote and maintain effective client/stakeholder relationships to protect and enhance the company's reputation to assure repeat business
• Ensure that all mandatory reporting of KPI's, Close Calls, accidents and incidents are carried out as per Network Rail procedures

Required experience, knowledge, qualifications and training:

• HND Civil Engineering or similar
• Ideally have around 6-10 years’ experience in a similar role, but any other relevant experience may also be taken into consideration
• High level commercial acumen
• Excellent leadership, communication and IT skills
• PTS & CSCS Card Holder
• SMSTS or equivalent
