JOB TITLE: Site Agent
LOCATION: Highbridge
SALARY: £40-51K

THE CLIENT
My Somerset based client is currently recruiting for a Site Agent to work on a number of projects which are based in Wessex and Western England.

ROLE
* The purpose of this role is to lead successful contract delivery by ensuring:
* That the site team are fully aware of the contract requirements
* The site team has the capability and resources necessary to achieve contract objectives
* Positive relationships are developed with all parties associated with the contract
* That contracts are delivered on time, within budget and to the agreed quality whilst ensuring that client expectations regarding quality, programme and budget are wherever possible exceeded.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
The key tasks of this role include but are not limited to:
* Fulfilling the Agent's responsibilities as laid down in the Company's Health and Safety Policy
* Ensuring that the contract is executed in accordance with the requirements of:
o All applicable legislation
o The Terms and Conditions of the Contract
o The Contract Health and Safety Plan
o The Work Package Plans and Task Briefing Sheets
o The Contract Quality / Environmental Plan
o The Policies and Procedures contained within the company Business Management System
o Any assigned BIM Responsibilities
* Delivery of the contract within programme and budget
* Liaison with site staff and managing surveyor to ensure tender allowances are not exceeded
* The promotion of a continuous improvement culture and the use of best practice
* The continuous monitoring of contract progress to ensure contract objectives are being met
* Ensuring that in conjunction with the site team any changes to the contract are identified, agreed and effectively managed
* The provision of formal reports on contract progress to the Contracts Manager
* Ensuring that all relevant issues, which cannot be resolved at contract level, are passed to the Contracts Manager to be resolved
* The identification of business development opportunities and ensuring that any such opportunities are communicated and proactively progressed in conjunction with the Pre Contracts Director.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Candidates for this role must be a team player and should meet the following criteria:
* Must have a "Contractors" background and preferably have experience of working for a major contractor
* Both building and civil engineering experience is essential along with experience of design and build projects
* Previous experience as a Site Agent in a rail and civil engineering environment.
* PTS
* SMSTS
* Experience as a Sub Agent or Site Agent in a rail contracting environment.
* Experience in rail working on civils associated projects
* IT literate, particularly MS Word and MS Excel

EDUCATIONAL/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
* Degree/HNC or HND in civil engineering (or equivalent compensating experience in a technical engineering role)
