Senior Site Representative (SSR) Job Description
We require two (Team 1 and Team 2) SSR's for on-site supervision of investigation coring works into railway structures adjacent or in water courses around the South East. For this work Arcadis is the Principal Contractor and Arcadis have a subcontractor to carrying out the coring works.
The coring works will take place 4 - 5 weeks in September 2021 (See Main Coring works below), with an onboarding period of 1 week in August prior to ensure all training has been completed. Therefore 5 min to 6 weeks max post.
Previous training, skills knowledge, experience of the operational railway/ infrastructure (therefore Network Rail report protocols) and site works or working near water would be preferable.
The SSR needs to have: Site Supervisor (external course refreshed every two years - evidence based) or equivalent.
The SSR will have the following before the actual site investigation works (To be undertaken during onboarding to Arcadis):
- A project specific Induction
- Internal Arcadis SSR course (this provides awareness of incident reporting, hazard and risk awareness, Stop Work Authority, Drug & Alcohol processes and On-Call escalation- as a minimum
In addition to the above as a minimum, the Senior Site Representative should have to attend the following:
- Personal Track Safety (PTS)
- Rail Sector Specific Induction.
Senior Site Representative Responsibilities
- Supporting the Project Manager during pre-works briefings to share a complete understanding of the planned work arrangements and to provide challenge where this is required.
- Managing absence including failure to attend by members of the team.
- Supporting the management of change in conjunction with the On-Call Manager (such as variation to method of work).
- Issuing the On-Call Manager with alerts from site of incidents and accidents.
- Coordinating the response to incidents and accidents
- Tracking the safe completion of the work and clearance of the worksite via (the custom and practice) messaging to the On-Call Manager.
- Completing a Site Diary at the start/end of each shift; the site diary will document (word, video, photographs) the arrival on site, site conditions, work being completed and time off site. This report will be sent to the Project Manager at the end of the shift.
- Enforce Stop Work Authority as/when/if required (e.g. incident) and informing the On-Call Manager.
