POSITION SUMMARY
Manages the daily on-site implementation of planned works ensuring that all work is completed to the required specification and standards. Responsible for ensuring that all client and company safety standards are adhered.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Note: These statements are intended to describe the general nature of the job and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills and duties. This will comprise 80% of role.
Key Activities/Elements
- On site execution of the planned works carrying out dynamic risk assessments to ensure that the plan can be safely executed.
- Supervision of on-site activities allocating resource appropriate to task and safety competence.
- In conjunction with the Delivery Managers and the Work Planners assist in the planning of the works.
- Complete and distribute the works progress reports / site logs.
- Assist in the lesson Learnt activity ensuring that records are maintained that enables corrective and preventative actions.
- Manage the completion, collation and return of site documentation.
- Inspect and certify completion of works to the defined specification and standards.
- Conduct on site briefings and verifying understanding.
- Monitoring and mentoring of field engineers to aid and assist in their development.
Education level and/or relevant experience(s)
- Relevant technical further education qualifications and Project Management certification is highly desired
- 3 years plus relevant practical and vocational experience in the execution of construction type projects in a field based role
- Strong command of the English language
Knowledge and skills For the area of Planning and Operations candidate demonstrates:
- Proficient understanding and know how in HR processes
- Effective utilization of recognized planning, analytical or conceptual principles and techniques
- Understanding and applying principles of effective project management
- Ability to apply financial or technical data knowledge to provide sound analyses in order to drive results significantly and support respective management decision
- Understands impact of legislation and law regulations relevant to the function
Other requirements
- Structure own area of responsibility effectively and keep records of all open issues in a very complex working environment
- Knowledge of SAP and MS Office software package (excellent Excel)
GENERAL TASKS – MANAGER / EXPERT ABOVE LEVEL (TOTAL: 20%)
1. Reporting
- Attend regular meetings with the senior management to report on activities, results and forecast commitment
- Run meeting within own Team
2. Human Resources
- Provide strong leadership to the Team and manage their performance including annual and monthly target setting,
- Ensure annual succession planning and training plans.
- Act as a coach and mentor to the Team members
- Approve wage, bonus and commission schedules in line with budget and operating constraints
- Promote equal opportunity and affirmative action employment practices
3. Performance Management
- Development and performance management of employees
- Drive participation of ENGAGE within given timescales
- Ensure that bonus (and commission – where applicable) targets are stretched goals and based around the profitability of the business
4. Team Building / Communication
- Provide best practice sharing with the community
- Develop effective relationships
5. Quality and Compliance
- Compliance with Panasonic’s Quality Processes.
