Site Supervisor in Liverpool, Merseyside, United Kingdom
Our client has worked on a number of the UK's most prestigious Major Projects and Alliance Partnerships, they are currently focusing on the funding, design and construction of fibre networks in the UK, and are growing 3 UK regional hubs.
As a Freelance Site Supervisor reporting into the Construction Manager, this is a key to ensure the effective and safe running of the work site(s) and in particular the work carried out by the subcontractors. You will be supervising the work on site to ensure it is delivered according to the approved design, to an exemplary level of quality and at the planned production output rates, and making sure all required documentation and permits are in place and that H&S of staff, the public and infrastructure is prioritised.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for ensuring that all construction work is compliant with both Health and Safety regulations and company procedures. Adopts preventative behaviours and ensures the safety of others on the worksite through leadership, briefing, coaching, zero tolerance and demonstrating exemplary behaviour as a safety role model.
- Ensures compliance with contractual commitments, specifications, and quality of workmanship by supply chain and/or subcontractors.
- Ensures compliance with schedules and plans corrective actions when necessary.
- To manage the public interface with the project, ensure safety and segregation of the public and act politely and professionally as first point of contact with the public and the project
- Ensures compliance with schedules and plans corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensures company equipment is compliant with H&S and fit for purpose with the operatives.
- Ensures stores and equipment are prepared to maximise the operatives ability to work.
For this position, the ideal candidate should have the following skills, experience and knowledge:
Essential:
- HND/HNC in Construction/Civil Engineering and/or similar qualification;
- Proven and successful track record (5+ years) as a construction site supervisor or a team leader role, ideally within utilities, highways or new fibre networks;
- Knowledge of Industry standards relating to highways & streetworks;
- Detailed knowledge of the construction site and construction methods relating to infrastructure civil engineering works and traffic management, tools and materials;
- Understand budgetary control and resource allocation procedures;
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills in a Site Supervisor role;
- Excellent written, communication, interpersonal and briefing skills;
- Good interpersonal and time management and proven stakeholder management skills;
- Excellent organisation and problem-solving;
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft office;
- NRSW qualification in date and uploaded to NOPS;
- SSSTS / SMSTS;
- NRSWA Supervisor;
Desirable:
- Tier 1 / Main Contractor experience;
- Knowledge of the Local Authority's areas and geography;
- First Aider;
- Unit 2 - Unit 10 street works in date;
This is an excellent opportunity as a Freelance Site Supervisor to work for a Principal / Main Contractor, on a long-term contract basis.
