The Company

You will be joining a reputable and firmly established, national rail and civil engineering contractor with a company turnover approaching £300m (Group TO £500m+). As a Site Agent working for a specialist civil, building, mechanical and electrical renewals and maintenance business recognised on contracts and frameworks across the country, you will become part of a renowned brand name and team giving you the opportunity to grow in conjunction with this ambitious and forward-thinking business. In recent times, the company has used its repute and solid track record in the rail industry to venture into pastures new and break into working with new clients and industries such as the Environment Agency, Highways England and London Underground to name just a few.

About the Job

This is an outstanding opportunity to join the existing team as a Site Engineer working on a host of rail civil engineering, structures and tunnels renewals works with your day to day responsibilities including but not limited to the usual health and safety management, sub-contractor management, setting out, quality, production of all relevant paperwork, work package plans etc.

Projects typically include minor repairs to associated railway infrastructure and assets such as bridges and tunnels, troughing and electrification bases with repair and upgrade works including brickworks, painting, structural steel, demolition etc.

Your first 12 months will see you involved in a major civils infrastructure project including the construction and installation of a new bridge and associated civils work.

The Ideal candidate

You should have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Site Engineer under your belt with at least a year of that working in a rail and civil engineering environment on projects such as bridges, embankments or line side civils.

The Requirements

You should be educated to Degree/HNC/HND level in a relevant discipline (i.e. Civil Engineering) and you must come from a technical engineering background with experience of setting out and site methodologies, health and safety etc. An up to date PTS and tickets for lifting, authorised person and temporary works would be a distinct advantage.

Salary

£35,000 – £40,000 per annum + extensive benefits package including car/car allowance.
