Job Role: Site Engineer
Location: Manchester
Duration: 12 months (likely extension)
Day Rate: £320 - £365 (Umbrella – Inside IR35)

Description of the Site Engineer:

The Site Engineer will be responsible for day to day surveying and setting out duties. The Site Engineer will have previous experience of setting out of engineering works, ideally in the rail environment.

Responsibilities for the Site Engineer:

• Completing all necessary paperwork such as ITP’s and quality documentation
• Setting out the works in accordance with the contract requirements before work is programmed to commence.
• Communicate with foremen, gangers, workforce and sub-contractors to ensure full understanding of information provided.
• Check the works during progress and on completion to ensure that it has been constructed in line with the setting-out information provided, measured and signed off before covering up and that information is passed to the QS and QA function.
• Complete inspection and test plans, risk assessments and method statements for the control of the works ensuring that all necessary documentation, as required by these statements and plans, is produced in a timely manner.
• Ad hoc duties as required.

Requirements for the Site Engineer:

• Degree educated in an engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
• Relevant CSCS card
• Experience working on major rail projects
• Able to set out and level to an excellent standard
• Experience of signing ITP’s
• Sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulations
• Fully conversant with the use of robotic total station instruments
