M1 Junction 28 (Mansfield) and M1 Junction 35a (Sheffield). Constructing 46 No. EAs along this section and the programme is scheduled to last until 2026.

The scope of works includes site clearance, earthworks, retaining structures, slope stability, drainage, pavement, VRS, technology, gantry installation, street furniture and signs. There is a great variety of work for site engineers that are looking to learn and progress.

The site engineer will need to have Highways experience in the past and be familiar with most of the disciplines listed above.

The site engineer will be required to carry out the following:
• Support senior engineers and above to deliver the scope of works.
• Monitor subcontractors works and progress on site.
• Keep a detailed diary and record/ raise any issues identified on site.
• Check subcontractors works to ensure that this is in accordance with works information.
• Maintain progress, testing and quality trackers.
• Record as-built information and contribute towards developing handover packs.
• Monitor health and safety on site, ensuring subcontractors are working in accordance with approved safe systems of work.
• Produce and brief permits to work on site.
• Carry out limited setting out where required.
• Carry out limited surveys where required.
• Draft and distribute start of shift briefings.
• Monitor quality and raise any issues encountered on site.
• Track daily works progress using Aphex.
• Re-measure works completed on site and keep detailed records.

Skills / Qualifications:

• CSCS Card,
• SCM Safety Critical Medical,
• Highways Passport,
• CAT4 HSG47 Avoiding dangers from underground services.
• 1 Day Course Minimum

Pay rate: £350 per day - (ir35 status to be determined)
