Assistant Permanent Way Manager - Heritage

Isle of Man Railways within the Department of Infrastructure are seeking an experienced railway engineering manager to join the Permanent Way engineering management team and assist in managing the maintenance of the Isle of Man Steam, Manx Electric, Snaefell Mountain Railways and Douglas Bay Horse tramway to allow safe and effective railway operations.

They will also be responsible for further developing and implementing track standards and maintenance programmes appropriate to the requirements of the Isle of Man Heritage Railways

The post holder will work with the Permanent Way Manager and team of approx. 25 staff, with an annual maintenance budget of approx. £1.25m.

Applicants must hold an appropriate professional qualification in an engineering or safety discipline and have either 2 years’ experience in managing permanent way maintenance or renewals within a railway / tramway system or 4 years’ experience in supervising or managing civil engineering or related works on safety critical infrastructure.
