We're currently looking for an Assistant Procurement Manager who has experience of managing their own portfolio of multiple projects simultaneously. This opportunity to work on one of the biggest rail projects in the UK will be based in Birmingham on an initial 6 month contract.
They will be collaborating within the Procurement Operations team and are responsible for procuring contracts above £10k that are not Construction or Rolling Stock. The team work with all Directorates to include procurement activities in relation to; identification of business need; scope development; procurement strategy; supplier qualification; tender process; award decision; and Contract placement and execution. The team manage a pipeline of activities that have been initiated via a business planning process, including a review make vs. buy and ensure compliance with Utilities Contract Regulations.
The APM will lead on procurement projects between £10k and £1m and assist on the annual spend on corporate goods and services is estimated at approx. £250m per annum, while managing your own portfolio of circa 10 project at any one time from various sectors. Key contacts in this position will stem from internal Directorate stakeholders (i.e. business leads) suppliers in terms of market engagement and internal procurement management team.
Successful candidates will need effective analytical and report writing skills with experience of public sector of writing reports in accordance of project initiation plan and approval reports for frameworks. You would need experience of market engagement activities and compiling procurement documentations through OJEU, including tender and commercial documents whilst maintaining accuracy and quality while using e-tendering solutions.
