What will you do as the Assistant Terminal Manager?
Basically you'll oversea the day to day operation of the rail terminal, ensuring the team delivers an excellent logistics solution to HS2 rail terminals.
The role will focus closely on Health, Safety, Wellbeing and Compliance of the staff and sub-contractors on site and the leadership of teams.
Other duties include overseeing asset utilisation, operational cost management, stockpile management, logistic plan management, contractor management as well as accident and incident investigations.
The Assistant Terminal Manager will lead a small team of Shift Supervisors.
So who would be good at this job?
The key success criteria for the role will first and foremost be someone with an excellent leadership and communication style. Someone who can manage strategic relationships with the client as well providing leadership to a multi-national workforce and being a great mentor to their team.
Rail experience is not a necessity, as long as you have an appreciation of the sector. We're looking for excellent site management, operational leadership, excellent commercial awareness as well as brilliant attention to detail when it comes to paperwork and compliance.
You'll have experience of managing disruption, changing requirements, as well as inventory management.
A Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH or equivalent / level of experience is key. A current PTS and a WAMITAB certification is also desirable.

The client provides infrastructure services which in turn provides their clients with solutions that allows them to develop high performing logistics operations. They Specialise in rail, and are able to provide all or part of the Logistics operation from feasibility studies right the way through to terminal operation.
Remuneration & core information.
The salary for this position is up-to circa £60,000 - £80,000 depending on the experience of candidates
