Ford & Stanley - The Rail Recruitment Experts are currently seeking to appoint an experienced Bid Manager. The role will support the Business Development team by preparing costing and submission reports for some of the world's largest rail organisations and responding professionally within a timely manner to all enquires.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the preparation of bids and tenders.
  • Review opportunities and invitations received to tender and identify suitability against the business strategy.
  • Understanding customer requirements and development of appropriate bid strategy.
  • Responsible for completing documentation within a timely manner.
  • Preparation of detailed budget costings to support submissions.
  • Customer interface for ongoing bids and follow up of submissions.
  • Provide information for the maintenance of the opportunity database and bid register.
  • Dealing with KPI reports for forecasting and continuous improvement.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate must have an excellent understanding of bid and quotation processes and completion of submissions. You must also have experience of working in the Rail Industry and understand the rail and construction industry contract terms and conditions. It is important you can demonstrate effective relationship management, interpersonal skills and communication skills.

Essentials

  • Degree qualified in a relevant subject.
  • Experience of bid and quotation processes.
  • Experienced in completion of submissions.
  • Proficient in IT systems such as; Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Effectively work under pressure, to tight timescales and manage workload.
  • Familiar with using the OJEU process.

Desirable

  • Ideally have experience of telecoms products and installations.
