The role...

As a result of continued expansion, ADComms are searching for a Bid Manager to join our Bid Team.

As our Bid Manager, you'll supports the ADC strategy, be responsible for preparing Costing and Submission of documents to respond to Customer enquiries. You will coordinate between the Business functional departments to ensure we respond both in a professional and timely manner to all enquiries.

Key Activities/Elements

  • Responsible for the preparation of Bids and Tenders for the ADC Group of companies to include: Interpretation of Customer requirements and development of appropriate bid strategy. Timely planning and completion of Expressions of Interest, Pre-Qualification Questionnaires, Bid Documentation and Quotes as required by the Business
  • Preparation of detailed Budget Costings to support Submissions and Presentation of Submissions for review and acceptance by Bid Review Panel. Responsible for reviewing bid submissions for quality and accuracy;
  • Engagement of Departmental resource as required to support Submissions. Identifying opportunities to enhance and improve the process, whilst sharing best practice with the team
  • Customer interface for ongoing Bids and follow up of Submissions
  • Maintenance of Opportunity Database and Bid Register. Identifies, initiates and participates in any projects that will support the company and its subsequent potential in winning and delivering successful contracts
  • Compiling, updating and maintaining a library of company standard tender documentation and maintaining records relating to submissions and successes;
  • Responsibility for project managing large, strategically important bids on a national/international basis and ensuring the quality of the response meets the company standards

Education level and/or relevant experience(s)

  • Degree in a relevant discipline (desirable).
  • Significant experience of bid and quotation processes and completion of submissions
  • Has a clear understanding and interpretation of the questions within the pre-qualification questionnaire and tender documents;
  • Demonstrates a creative approach to the writing and presentation of bids;
  • ideally have experience of working in the Rail Industry
  • ideally have experience of Telecoms products and installations
  • Familiar with the OJEU process
  • Familiar with standard Rail and Construction Industry Contract Terms and Conditions
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines in high pressure situations
  • Strong command of both spoken and written English (mandatory).

Knowledge and skills

  • Ability to demonstrate creativity and innovation through the production of bespoke Client documentation to ensure best chance of successful bids
  • Builds internal and external relationships with individuals associated with the bid process in order to create quality bids;
  • Team player with excellent communications skills;
  • Ability to construct relevant answers which clearly answer the clients question and portray the company in the best possible light;
  • Understand and interpret key information from PQQs, ITT and other related tender documentation
  • Completion of all tenders to a high and consistent standard in a time pressured environment

  • Good blend of business/commercial/legislative knowledge

4. Human Resources
- Provide strong leadership to the Team and manage their performance including annual and monthly target setting,
- Ensure annual succession planning and training plans.

- Approve wage, bonus and commission schedules in line with budget and operating constraints
