Bid/Proposals Manager - Rail in United Kingdom
Vital are the UK’s leading Rail support services business, with 41 years’ experience, a turnover in excess of £175 million and offices throughout the UK. We supply management, engineers, construction staff and deliver Rail projects to all of the UK’s biggest Operators and Contractors.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and ambitious Rail Bid/Proposals Manager to join our highly successful team. This is a varied and exciting role and will provide the successful candidate with an excellent scope for career development. This role will include Client engagement/relationship enhancement and cover all aspects of proposal writing and bid management. We are also looking for someone that can help our Executive Team deliver our strategy of diversification and modernisation.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Create high-quality bid and proposal content that effectively communicates our client's value proposition for both new and existing business opportunities.
- Compile information from various sources and stakeholders to craft compelling responses that align with the bid's key themes and sales messages.
- Ensure the timely submission of compliant bids and proposals.
- Collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders, including Account Managers, Senior Directors, and operational staff, to gather information.
- Employ efficient project planning strategies to ensure timely and relevant information is collected and integrated into bid responses.
- Coordinate with the Business Development, Marketing, and Operational teams to support pre-bid activities and gain insight into client pre-tender releases.
- Facilitate bid reviews at key milestones, adhering to APMP best practices.
- Continuously update and enhance the content library to ensure the use of accurate and relevant materials.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Rail sector experience.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organizational abilities, enabling the management of multiple tasks and workload prioritization to meet deadlines.
- Keen attention to detail, especially while working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of the bidding process and a solid understanding of structuring, compiling, and writing bid/tender responses.
- Strong, creative, and persuasive writing skills, along with proven experience in producing and editing winning proposal content.
