OVERALL PURPOSE

The Campaign Advisor will initiate and take ownership of stakeholder engagement and client intelligence processes working collaboratively with key customers and suppliers to identify business challenges and position the client to provide compelling solutions.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES OR MAIN TASKS

Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and suppliers through working collaboratively to identify business challenges and provide appropriate and effective solutions.

  • Conduct market intelligence and competitive analysis to understand industry trends, competitor activities, and upcoming projects to identify growth opportunities for the business.
  • Support the client interface with Irish Rail and Transport Infrastructure Ireland to ensure opportunities are captured and intelligence distributed across the business and progress in responding to them are tracked.
  • Develop and support client engagement strategies to position the company for future opportunities whilst building and maintaining strong relationships with railway clients, partners, and subcontractors.
  • Support the procurement process through developing strong client and supply chain relationships across departments and seniority of levels, inputting technical leadership and knowledge as required.
  • Apply technical knowledge, expertise and understanding of the customer’s requirements to support the production of competitive and compelling proposals against tender requirements.
  • Review and support bids as an independent reviewer for technical and commercial proposals.
  • Engage with the wider client business to support strategy and growth targets and validate pipeline of business opportunities with Irish Rail.
  • Working with the business leadership team to liaise with existing and potential partners to establish and maintain the relationships necessary to sustain growth projections, always adhering to client processes.
  • Continually improve the Company’s corporate identity through market research to identify trends in the marketplace and opportunities for capability development that may improve competitive positioning.

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA

  • Experienced in developing and managing customer relationships at a senior level to position organisations to win.
  • Experienced in leading business development resources and managing opportunity pipelines.
  • The ability to develop commercially competitive but profitable commercial offerings.
  • Sound engineering technical understanding.
  • Strong commercial market sector knowledge in Ireland specifically Rail.
  • Strong proven skill set in: Strategic Planning, Relationship Management, Business Development, Contracting and Delivery Models Public Procurement Process (Ireland), Legislation

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  1. Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in Engineering. Preferably chartered.
  • Experienced in various rail systems and public sector procurement in the Republic of Ireland.
  • An in-depth knowledge of the of Irish Rail’s structure and power bases.
  • Significant experience working in rail infrastructure, particularly in Ireland, ideally having worked directly for one of the following organisations Irish Rail, Transport Infrastructure Ireland, NTA, or DOT.
  • Knowledge of the rail landscape in Ireland, who the Tier 1 contractors are, main suppliers to Irish Rail/TII, understand rail governance and compliance requirements.
  • Technical experience in the following rail systems: telecoms, signalling, civils, E&P, ETCS/TMS, OLE/electrification and track.
  • Experience in rail engineering work winning.
  • Knowledge of project management software, customer relationship management software (CRM), proposal software and presentation tools.
  • Experience of major infrastructure projects. Framework, Alliancing and JV experience desirable.
