COMMUNICATION MANAGER
LONDON - PERMANENT POSITION

JOB SUMMARY:

The Relationship Manager will play a key role in managing positive relations with external organisations and groups that the project will need to have an active dialogue with. The Relationship Manager will also have a co-ordinating role internally, building effective working relationships with internal teams (both technically focussed and project services) so that consistent and appropriate communications are promoted.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Implement management process in accordance with the Community Engagement and Communications and Stakeholder Engagement and Management plans
• Ensure that project Stakeholder Management system is up to date and provides clear summary of current discussions with external stakeholders
• Work with the Communications Manager to draft copy for e/bulletins, news-letters and external meetings to update on progress and issues
• Work with the Technical Projects teams to ensure effective dialogue with key stakeholders, as well as colleagues working in Consents and Interface Management
• Working with the Communication Lead to ensure that comm's campaigns and targeting reflects the needs of the project and effectively engages the workforce

REQUIREMENTS:

• Knowledge of community issues / management
• Good knowledge of public consultation
• At least 5 years of experience of Stakeholder Management or Public Affairs on a major project or for a large employer in similar position
• Experience of major construction/ development projects
• Degree or similar qualification
• Past experience of Local Community engagement
• Excellent influencing and negotiating skills
• Good verbal and written skills
• Persuasive communicator
