Communications Manager in Derby, Derby, United Kingdom
My client is an established consultancy with a great reputation.
They are seeking an experienced Communications Manager to join their team in rail team in Derby.
Key tasks:
Contribute to management of stakeholder communication activities - including:
- Arranging, attending meetings as required
- Preparation/distribution of presentations, literature, e-mails, newsletters
- Work with project teams to understand planned work and its impacts to devise appropriate communications strategies and draft communications plans for project team approval
Having produced communications plans, carrying out the activities they contain - including:
- Being a key point of contact for project teams for Comms advice and support
- Representing Communications at Control Room and T-minus meetings - ensuring agreed actions are delivered
- Arranging/promoting events, developing & managing production of marketing materials (leaflets, signs, posters etc.)
- Accompanying stakeholders, media, photographers, film crews during site visits
- Ensuring that all materials use appropriate key messages, language and branding compliant with the individual project/programme as well as the clients corporate policies
- Working with Route media relations, digital/social media and internal Comms teams to maximise awareness among external and internal audiences as appropriate
Identify and develop initiatives to improve Communications and their performance
Contribute to regular reports on communications activities
Representing East Midlands Comms team at monthly Route Comms meeting and monthly Strategic Comms group as required
Experience/Skills required
- Knowledgeable across a variety of Communications channels including: media relations, public affairs and social media
- Excellent copywriting skills with ability to adapt writing style to the needs of differing audiences
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing, communication and organisation skills
- Strong visual style, understanding of design & print processes
Salary / Package will be entirely dependent on level of experience.
Circa £35,000 to £50,000
Benefits include Travel reimbursed through expenses, Pension, Life cover/death in service cover, Annual leave of 25 days per annum, discretionary bonuses.
