We are currently working with a client organisation who are looking to recruit a Configuration Manager to join the team in London (Podium office) or Birmingham (Snowhill) working on new high-speed rail projects. As Configuration Manager you will be managing and coordinating change to technical requirements and technical baselines across HS2 construction contracts. You will be responsible for verifying and validating the evidence submitted by the respective contracts and their IPTs that sets out how those changes have been implemented and configured within the contracts.

As Configuration Manager you will be managing and coordinating change to technical requirements and technical baselines across HS2 construction contracts. You will be responsible for verifying and validating the evidence submitted by the respective contracts and their IPTs that sets out how those changes have been implemented and configured within the contracts.
As Configuration Manager your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- To ensure consistent application and change control processes across the delivery contracts
- Experience in Change Management
- To manage and coordinate the process of change to technical requirements and technical baselines across the delivery contracts.
- To ensure the relevant approved technical change and configuration management processes are instructed to the supply chain by HS2.
- To communicate updates to the technical change and configuration management processes across the HS2 Delivery Directorate and Supply Chain
- To own and present data-based reporting on IPT adherence to the technical change and configuration management processes; through the provision of analysis and control metrics in the field of configuration management and satisfaction such as the progress of the contracts and IPTs can be monitored, corrected, and understood.
- Facilitate user feedback on HS2 procedures to the relevant technical group/author thus supporting continuous improvement of HS2 Configuration Management ways of working
- Work collaboratively and achieve agreements with stakeholders and third parties in managing the configuration of technical requirements, success criteria, and the level of evidence.
- To mentor and coach engineers and environmentalists working to provide evidence and satisfaction arguments in the importance and ultimate purpose of configuration management
- Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies, and procedures in EDI
Job requirements:
- Ability to establish, clarify and communicate the importance of functional and non-functional requirements with others.
- Competent in digital data and information analysis and trend reporting
- Quantitatively and qualitatively assess the performance of delivery organisations against of chain against objective requirements.
- Ability to work with subject matter experts.
- Ability to review results and work with stakeholders to gain agreement on resultant issues.
- Knowledge of the DOORS Requirements management tool.
- Knowledge of configuration management practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts.
- Understanding of the roles and responsibilities under CDM Regulations 2015, and have knowledge of the European Common Safety Methods guidance
- Knowledge of verification and validation methods.
Types of experience:
- Experience of managing requirements and the oversight and implementation of assurance processes on infrastructural projects
- Experience of liaising with contractors and designers
- Experience of multi-discipline programmes
- Experience of providing specialist advice to support others.
