Mane Rail are currently recruiting a hands on Construction Manager to work on a major infrastructure project in Luton, Bedfordshire.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all on-site construction works.
You will be responsible for -
* Taking overall responsibility for the on schedule, successful completion of the construction programme, meeting or exceeding all contractual obligations
* Ensuring that all HS&E targets, KPIs are set and managed, monitor the effectiveness of the HS&E management system, lead/review accident investigations and carry out periodic Safety and Environmental Tours & risk reviews and implement safety improvement options
* Ensuring that sufficient resources are allocated to the works and that each has an appropriate level of ability
* Planning and organising the on-site labour and plant
* Coordinating all work activities with the civil works contractor
* Actively managing all interfaces with third parties, e.g. airport, Network Rail, etc.
* Developing interface plans subject for approval by third parties
* Developing and adhering to method statements
* Dealing with contract variations and mitigate risks
* Liaising with the Project Director about any changes to the programme or work packages
To be considered for this vacancy as a Construction Manager you must meet the following -
* At least 5 years' experience, with a demonstrable track record of delivering and overseeing a broad range of construction activities at site level - Rail or Airport background
* The ability to review potential design proposals and assess the likely impact and risks associated with constructing the works
* Familiar with construction methodologies, processes and techniques associated with infrastructure engineering projects
* Knowledge of health, safety and environment aspects relating to the construction industry
* Team worker with excellent communications and public relations skills
* Computer literate (MS Office and web based software apps)
* No extreme vertigo due to occasional work at height
* Highly proficient in spoken and written English and the legal right to work in the UK
