My client is a leading provider of rail infrastructure services. They are looking to strengthen their team with the appointment of a Contractors Engineering Manager.

The opportunity will be responsible for projects in the Western Region. Due to the nature of this position there will be a hybrid working setup.

The salary on offer is negotiable and dependent on experience and requirements. Along with a competitive salary you will receive a Car Allowance and Bonus.

You will provide technical leadership and advice to the project teams throughout the portfolio of works, mainly within the South West Region. You will need to have a wide-ranging experience of the railway industry and have a multidiscipline stretch to your knowledge. Ideally you will also have experience of working within Signalling projects but this is not essential.

Your key responsibilities will include

Discharge the duties of Contractors Engineering Manager (CEM) in accordance with NR/L2/INI/02009 on behalf of my client on a project/framework specific basis throughout the lifecycle of the project.

Provide support to the various teams offering technical guidance and best practice.

Where required, carry out the role of Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) to provide additional or specialist support to project teams

Be a positive influence in the development and delivery of my clients high standards in safety and quality.

Provide support to the Director and Programme Manager of the Framework.

As the right candidate for this role you will preferably hold a Degree in Civil Engineering and be a member of a suitable professional institution

Have a high level of understanding of all current safety legislation and be able to contribute to the safe management of design, development and construction.

An in-depth knowledge of Network Rail Standards and the Engineering Lifecycle of a project is also a key requirement.
