What will you do as the Control Tower Manager?

Basically you'll be responsible for managing, monitoring and overseeing the day to day operation of the rail terminal, act as the PIC (Person in Charge) for the rail siding (a low-speed track section within the depot/yard for those not in rail!), and act as the single point of contact for the Rail Logistics supply chain.

We need this person to be responsible for the information supply and performance monitoring of the rail system as well as operating the control tower ensuring that the logistics team is fully informed of any deviation to plan and what the resulting mitigation plans will look like. As with most major projects, things change and you'll be key to being on top of this!

You'll also be the central point for the information for the daily performance reports and distribute as required.

So who would be good at this job?

The key success criteria for the role will be someone who is great at finding out information and who can take a proactive approach to remedial action planning.

Someone with good leadership/management skills. You'll manage a small team of shift controllers & focus on health and safety. delivery and performance.

What would the ideal candidate look like?

You will have exposure to rail, logistics or aviation industries and have been the PIC (Person in charge) before.

A Little bit about the client

Client provides infrastructure services which in turn provides their clients with solutions that allow them to develop high performing logistics operations. They Specialise in rail, and are able to provide all or part of the Logistics operation from feasibility studies right the way through to terminal operation.

Remuneration & core information.

The remuneration for this position is £60,000. This is £55,000 basic and £5,000 shift allowance

Pension contribution of £10,000 pa

3 year permanent contract

Rotational shift basis of 40 hours a week. Currently:

Days 06.30 – 15.00

Backs 14.30 – 23.00
