Job title: Depot Manager - Rail
Job location: Yorkshire
Salary: circa £60k per annum plus benefits
I am currently recruiting for a Depot Manager to join a rail company based in Yorkshire to lead and motivate teams whilst encouraging continuous improvement.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
*To lead, support, motivate and direct the depot team to deliver the planned workload priorities as defined and agreed to ensure service requirements are met and any requirements of 3rd parties are secured for the depot.
*To ensure that site safety is managed and maintained in accordance with Health and Safety legislation, Company Rules and Regulations, and industry best practice.
*To ensure that depot processes are managed and maintained in accordance with ISO 9000 certification and Environmental standard ISO 14001.
*To lead and review the development and maintenance of the site(s), including Network Rail agreements, in line with the company policy of continuous improvement.
*To manage contracts for bought in and sub contracted services in accordance with company standards.
*To actively encourage and facilitate all depot staff to develop the most cost effective and efficient processes, within company guidelines, that support a single company entity.
*To lead the annual depot budget preparation and budget forecasting, and to ensure that controls are in place for regular monitoring, recovery actions and budget delivery.
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS
*Educated to degree standard or equivalent.
*Experience in traction, rolling stock, plant and machinery coupled with management experience preferably, in a production environment.
*An excellent communicator, able to motivate and inspire people towards continuous improvement.
*An experienced negotiator who is familiar with employment contracts.
*A good grasp of production operating systems, financial and contract management.
*A visionary individual able to look beyond the day to day for improvements, with ability to act as a facilitator during culture change.
*Knowledge of other industries best practice.
*Ability to consider the company view within a depot environment.
*Ability to delegate effectively.
