Are you an experienced Engineering Manager (CEM) seeking a new opportunity in the dynamic field of rail and civil engineering? We have a fantastic opening within our growing team in the Wales region, supporting a range of exciting long-term Infrastructure projects and major frameworks.
I have an opportunity for a talented Engineering Manager to join a dynamic and fast-paced business unit involved in a diverse range of civil engineering projects spanning various sectors, including rail (bridges, embankments, stations, platforms, tunnels, etc.), Environment Agency, and Local Authority. Our team is at the forefront of multi-disciplinary civil projects across the Wales region, engaging in both individual tendered projects and long-term framework contracts with key clients, encompassing Asset Management and Infrastructure Projects.
Ongoing contracts encompass CP6 infrastructure projects, minor works, and Environment Agency frameworks, covering activities such as bridge reconstruction/replacement, station enhancements, structural improvements (bridges, tunnels, footbridges), flood repair, and alleviation, among others.

The Role:
As the Engineering Manager (CEM), you will be a pivotal member of our framework and project delivery teams. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the design delivery process, overseeing both our internal design team and external designers. While focusing on local framework projects, you will also offer your expertise to other projects in the Wales region.

Key responsibilities include:
• Review and develop engineering processes and deliverables, aligned with project complexity and scale, and in line with Network Rail's Governance of Railway Infrastructure Projects (GRIP).
• Lead design reviews and liaise with clients, designers, and colleagues to ensure effective design and implementation.
• Oversee project documentation including CPPs, WPPs, TBs, Specifications, and drawings.
• Provide approvals for construction methodologies and communicate standard changes to project teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:
To excel in this role, you will need:
• Acceptance as a CEM (Contractors Engineering Manager) within a contracting organization.
• Extensive experience in railway projects.
• BSc / MEng / MSc in appropriate engineering discipline.
• Chartered Membership with a recognized industry body like ICE.
• Experience as a CEM or Engineering Manager in a multi-disciplinary rail contracting environment.
