My client, who are a principal contractor within the UK rail industry are currently looking to recruit an Environmental Manager to join their team in Yorkshire, where you will be supporting a major electrification project.

As the Environmental Manager you be responsible for overseeing the implementation, management and maintenance of initiatives that are designed to address critical environmental issues and improve sustainability.

The successful candidate will also ensure that the client complies with environmental laws and regulations, maintains detailed records of technical audits and environmental impact assessments and will write reports for the appropriate regulatory authorities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Delivery of the Environmental Management System
Coordination of the Sustainability Plan including:
Noise management
Carbon management
Vegetation and Habitation management
Environmental awareness training

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Required:

Experience of setting up and managing an Environmental Management System in a similar organisation.
Formal qualification in environmental management, preferably degree level.

Desirable:

NEBOSH diploma / CMIOSH or working towards
IEMA
Experience of setting up and managing an Environmental Management System accredited to ISO 14001
Experience of report writing
Experience of incident investigation
Experience of data analysis and management
Experience of audit management
Day to day advice and engagement with Operations
To support Operations with risk assessment, risk management, process development and review (Plan Do Check Act)
Undertake audits and inspections in line with the auditor
