Environmental Manager in Tel Aviv, Israel
A well-known international engineering consultancy is looking for a freelance Environmental Manager to work remotely with their client in managing the planning, design and construction of 3 new underground metro lines in Tel Aviv. The 3 new metro lines will total 149km and 109 metro stations to serve 24 municipalities.
Key figures:
* Operational in 2034.
* Estimated 2 million passengers per day will benefit from the new metro network.
* €50bn estimated cost.
* Benefits to Tel Aviv: 30% increase in public transport use and €8bn in economic benefits to the local economy.
This giga-project requires an Environmental Manager. As Environmental Manager you will lead the activities relating to environmental management during procurement, design and construction of the Tel Aviv Metro network.
* Responsible for the development by the Line Managers of a detailed Programme Environmental and Sustainability Management Plan based on the Environmental and Sustainability Strategy already produced.
* Responsible for the development by the Line Managers of a detailed Social Value Plan based on the Social Value strategy already produced, to ensure that the Programme delivers additional wider value to society
* Work closely with the Environment Director of NTA Metro.
* Actively participate to all the meetings with the Line Managers on Environment, Sustainability and Social Value.
* Ensure compliance with the environmental aspects of the Owner's Requirements
* Oversee the incorporation of environmental requirements in other core procedures and in the Line Manager design
* Ensure compliance with the environmental and sustainability Laws and requirements of applicable Authorities
* Develop strategies to minimize Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions from construction and operations and to ensure resilience to climate change
Required Skills
* Senior environmental professional with more than 20 years' experience in Environmental and Sustainability Management of major infrastructure/transportation projects
* Previous Metro / Rail experience
* Knowledge of Low-Carbon development in the design and construction of infrastructure
* Knowledge of climate resilience in the design and construction of infrastructure
