Fleet Engineering Manager-Rolling Stock in Queensland, Australia
We are seeking expressions of interest for a Fleet Engineering Manager to lead a major rollingstock and infrastructure project in Queensland, Australia.

Our capability allows us to offer turnkey solutions for complex projects and spans every project phase, from design and manufacture to through-life-support (TLS), condition monitoring and data analytics, to fleet maintenance, operations and comprehensive overhaul of assets.
Current flagship projects plus exciting projects on the horizon:
- Melbourne Metro – 70 High Capacity Metro Trains and a state of the art train maintenance facility in Pakenham.
- Sydney’s Waratah fleet – 119 trains including through-life-support at our purpose-built Auburn Maintenance Centre.
- Queensland’s New Generation Rollingstock – all upgrades to Queensland’s fleet taking place at our historic Maryborough Service Delivery Centre.
The Fleet Engineering Manager is a key leadership role reporting to the Technical Director on a major rollingstock and infrastructure project in Queensland, Australia. This role will lead a team of TLS Engineers.
This role is primarily responsible for supporting the transition from the train design into a full suite of maintenance and fleet support documents for the TLS phase of the project.
The Fleet Engineering Manager will also be directly involved in the rollout of the Maintenance Centre for fleet maintenance, improving upon the existing design methodology in place for other Australian fleets.
The Fleet Engineering Manager is responsible for ensuring that approved relevant project engineering standards and tools are maintained within the guidelines of the various technical plans whilst ensuring overall compliance to regulatory requirements.
Experience
- Must have 10 to 15 years' relevant experience in rollingstock or large infrastructure with rollingstock project delivery.
- Strong experience in the integration of multiple workstreams for a major infrastructure project.
- Experience developing and being accountable for railway safety cases and associated safety documentation.
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills with all stakeholders, including the ability to conduct detailed investigations and provide clear and decisive results and written reports.
- Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) and eligible to be registered on Engineer’s Australia National Engineering Register and relevant State Engineering Registers.
