THE COMPANY

Our client is one of the leading engineering and construction companies in the UK and provide specialist building, civil engineering and rail expertise to a range of markets. They deliver successful projects in a wide range of industries, including commercial, industrial, education, rail infrastructure and depots, airports, waste and energy.

Due to increased workload, they are now looking for a HSQE Manager to join the rail team to oversee projects in East Anglia, East Midlands and London!

IDEAL CANDIDATE

You’re the HSQE Manager I’m looking for if you have experience running multiple projects at any one time either within the rail civil engineering sector and are willing to travel to sites across a broad geographical area – there are multiple projects located between North London and Norfolk so you must be open to travelling and lodging away when required.

This opportunity is not for those who want to just plod along as this role does come with long hours, early starts and late finishes. Therefore, it is imperative that you are dedicated to the job and getting the work done, is this person you?

ABOUT THE JOB

The company are rail construction specialists working on projects such as new depot builds, bridge structure packages, station projects and track-based schemes. As a HSQE Manager, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Having overall responsibility for the projects from a HSQE perspective
  • Promoting Incident and Injury Free behavioural policy throughout sites
  • Ensuring compliance for company safety standards from sub-contractors
  • Liaising with client and stakeholders throughout project duration
  • Work with advisors across H&S, Environmental and Quality departments
  • Travelling to site at least once a month and working closely with the site team
  • Attend and represent company where necessary at Network Rail Safety days (and events ran by other clients)

REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for this role, you must be CMIOSH accredited to suit the company’s client, as well as holding a NEBOSH certificate. Rail civil engineering project experience is also essential due to the nature of the work. Plus, you must also have a full UK driving license.
