Salary: £33,000 per annum to £49,360 per annum

About The role:
We are looking to recruit a Materials Support Manager, in this role you will be responsible for structuring and implement all stores procedures, in line with the materials strategy plan and SAP functionality.
You would be reporting into the Materials Planning Manager and provide materials management support to the engineering department, to ensure optimum material prices are achieved via the contracts in place.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all potential and current approved safety critical suppliers and review when required
- Provide training and briefs to maximum use is made of the SAP materials control system to ensure maximum use of SAP
- Understand and adhere to materials budgets
- Be a representative of Northern in meetings where required
- Assist with the prediction and forecasting of stock
- Assist in reducing the value of non-moving stock, whilst ensuring availability and delivering the savings/productivity targets
- Ensure SAP is maintained and provide KPI’s
About You
We are looking for a highly motivated and driven individual. To fulfil this role your greatest strength will be working as part of a team and maintaining strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
Applicants should have a strong ability to communicate with various stakeholders in order to ensure parts supply is maintained and solve any problems that occur, to ensure our train service is not impacted. You will be excellent at working as part of a team and convey excellent organisational skills.
You should also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Show initiative and identify opportunities for improved processes, where necessary
- Good problem solving skills
- Good negotiation and interpersonal skills
- A good understanding of SAP is essential
- A basic familiarity of traction and rolling stock parts and equipment is essential
- Knowledge of material and supply chain management
- Professional qualifications to CIPS level 4 required, level 5 preferred, or working
- towards
- Have experience in materials or contract management
