Frameworks Recruitment are working in partnership with a Rail Engineering Contractor in the recruitment of a Permanent Way Delivery Manager /Contractors Responsible Engineer on a long term contract basis. You will be working on a number of projects based in Merseyside, Lancashire and the North West.

About the Role:

Following the ongoing success of several contract awards, the Permanent Way Delivery Manager plays a vital role in the delivery of these contracts and forms part of the tendering and estimating team to bid for future works.

Responsibilities will include and not be limited to:

• Key senior interface with Network Rail, Clients and projects stakeholders.
• Manage the performance of all Permanent Way staff assigned to you in accordance with legislation and company procedures.
• Managing from inception through to Project Delivery of the PWAY element within large Multi-disciplinary projects.
• Liaise with the commercial management teams when necessary to ensure best practice
• Ensure that all elements of the delivery of permanent way within our clients Multi-disciplinary projects are delivered on time to budget while driving project delivery matrices
• Ensure all works carried out comply with our clients H&S and environmental legislation
• Provide technical leadership through the work programme
• Act as Contractors Responsible Engineer (Track Construction)

Required Experience

• MUST have Permanent-Way rail experience at Senior Engineer level and above
• Acted as a CRE ( PWAY Construction or Design would be considered)
• MUST have main contractor experience and delivered Rail projects £5million+
• Hold Personal Track Safety (PTS)
• Strong client interfacing and management experience
• Well-developed negotiating skills based upon good technical and commercial understanding of contracts forms used in the Rail sector
• Well-developed presentation and communication skills
• Intellectually strong in terms of understanding technical concepts
• Clear and visible leadership, with capacity to absorb responsibility and accountability whilst leading a business unit.
