Venn Group is recruiting for a Site Manager to work on a Rail project in the Wessex area.
The successful candidate must have a proven delivery background in Track.
As the successful candidate, you will have experience in the below:
Duties:
- Ensure compliance with duties of Principal Contractor as defined in the CDM regulations
- Ensure compliance with the Company ‘Principal Contractors Licence when working on rail’
- Organise suppliers and sub-contractors to achieve efficient integration into the Plan Populate resource schedules in line with programme requirements
- Where applicable once trained and competent produce project related documents (i.e. CPP, WPP, TBS) in accordance with industry requirments where identified to do so in the CPP, WPP, TB Competence Matrix. In addition and if qualified to do so, produce lift plans and ALO working plans
- Order materials & plant for the site works in a timely manner
- Assist with the planning of manpower; represent the Delivery Team at PDR’s, Resource Meetings, Site Meetings
- Manage all staff, plant, equipment and material resources to allow for the effective and efficient delivery of the scheme
- Person in Charge (PIC) Rail: When working on rail projects the Person in Charge (PIC) must hold COSS Competence unless on an Infrastructure Projects (IP) sites when they will also require Safework Leader (SWL) to be a PIC/Task Leader
- Undertake site management roles in accordance with company procedures
- Control and implement health, safety, quality and environmental requirements
- Responsible for staff welfare on-site
- Monitor and control worked and unworked hours
- Produce reports and contribute to investigations as required
- Generate Technical as required in line with NWR specification and standards
- Motivate the team to deliver the project in accordance with Contract KPI’s
- Responsible for environmental, health and safety matters including promotion of and ensuring that BBS (Behavioural based Safety) practises are used on sites
- Responsible for leading and directing Gangs with training and deveolpment authorisation of time allocation
- Develop, coach and mentor staff and teams to strengthen performance Review and assess individual performance, identifying areas for development and improvement
- Communicate Company cascade briefs, plans/contract requirements to staff, checking understanding
Essential skills / qualifications
- PTS
- SMSTS
- COSS
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Rail Project Delivery Work
- Able to lead, motivate and make decsions on site
- Planning/understanding and managing costs & budgets
- Health, safety and environmental awareness
- Full Driving License
