Ford & Stanley - The Rail Recruitment Experts are recruiting for a Payroll Manager to work for their client who are a growing multidisciplinary railway engineering company.

You will be responsible for working in a business-critical role providing a timely and accurate payroll service whilst reporting directly to the Head of HR.

The role involves working within a small team in a complex T&C's environment, supporting various internal and external stakeholders.

You will also have the responsibility of managing the payroll and benefits for a circa of 1400 employees.

Role and Responsibilities

• Ensure the monthly, lunar and weekly pay are calculated accurately and efficiently.
• Monitoring the organisation's payroll systems comply with relevant regulations, policies and ensure pay is calculated accurately and efficiently.
• Monitoring and reporting on time sheet submission, sickness policy compliance and holiday allowance compliance to enable business managers to carry out their duties effectively whilst providing a centre of expertise and support network where this is needed.
• Ensure that all legislative payroll deadlines are met on a monthly and annual basis and that relevant submissions comply with relevant regulation (e.g. P35/P60, P11D) and legislation (Data Protection Act 1984).
• Produce management reports as required such as pay trends/forecast data for the management team.
• Implement and develop payroll processes across the organisation.
• Ensure there are minimum payroll errors across all payrolls.

Essentials

• Minimum Level 4 CIPP payroll qualification required
• At least 4 to 5 years relevant practical experience of working with complex Terms & Conditions in a highly pressurised environment.
• Experience in managing in-house payroll essential
• Proven experience in working in a high-volume Payroll function including a fast-paced team environment.
• Good understanding and knowledge of the recent changes in legislation.
