Performance Manager (Rail Operations) - Inside IR35

As a Performance Manager (Rail Operations) your main responsibilities would be:
- Leading on operational performance issues affecting GTR and Southeastern.
- Monitor and manage Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) and Southeastern Performance and Customer Experience regimes. Providing input into the setting of targets, reviewing and understanding the drivers of performance.
- Providing expert advice and insight on rail operations, performance and customer experience matters to the TSGN & SE Market team, senior officials and Ministers.
- Attending meetings with GTR, Southeastern and Network Rail as required to understand performance trends and industry plans to improve punctuality and reliability of train services.
- Understand Network Rail performance issues affecting the train operators and feed insight back to the Senior Leadership Team.
- Liaise with the rail industry on the latest developments in performance data and analysis.
You will be an engaging and influential manager, with the credibility to negotiate, effectively challenge and build constructive relationships with both internal and external teams across the industry, helping to drive collaborative improvement. Experience of working within, and an understanding of, the rail industry is vital for this role.
You will be a natural self-starter, comfortable using your own initiative to lead workstreams and solve problems. You will be at ease adapting to changing requirements in a fast-paced, high-profile environment.
You will be a naturally strategic, analytical thinker coupled with a practical, engaging delivery style. You will demonstrate excellent analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to communicate complex information to a varied audience with authority.
You will understand contractual and commercial drivers and be able to develop strategies to exploit these, considering financial, legal and commercial implications.
Evidence of working with large datasets, IT systems and software to a good level of proficiency.
