My Client, a Tier 1 Global Contractor within the Rail industry who specialise in Signalling is currently looking for a Power Engineering Manager to be based out of their York office due to recent project awards within the Eastern Regions.

POSITION OVERVIEW

To enhance the technical capability of the Client in the Electrical Engineering field.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To provide electrical and power technical support to the company
Act as a contracts manager or project engineer on allocated schemes of work.
Undertake internal and external technical investigations.
Ensure contracts involving electrical and power are technically compliant with relevant Group and Company standards.
Act as technical contact and liaison with clients and sub-contractors in order to resolve outstanding technical issues
Produce regular reports on the business performance.
Attend networking meetings with other partner and with external companies
Ensure timely delivery of Electrical Power System design, solution delivery, installation, testing & commissioning, hand back documentation and training
Carry out risk assessments.
Ensure regular technical / safety briefing of all relevant staff is undertaken.
Review new/altered electric and power documents to consider impact on the business.
Assist the management team in making strategic decisions for the signalling & telecoms business.
Motivate and develop technical staff.

Qualifications

Degree level education in an Electrical/Electronic Engineering discipline
Corporate Member of IET with CEng / IEng
C&G 2382
PTS and/or ST1

Experience

Experience of working in Electrical design, testing and installation.
Line and team managerial experience

Experience:

In depth knowledge of Group & client Company Standards and an understanding of appropriate legislation.
In depth knowledge of railway construction methods and materials used.
