Contract
Greenwich Day Manager:
The Day Manager provides assistance to the Generation Manager with respect to the management of the site, specifically for the day to day management of the maintenance programmes, contractors and new works. The Day Manager also assists the Generation Manager with maintaining the management systems and providing support with Environmental Permitting compliance activities. The main responsibilities of the Day Manager are:
- Manage the day to day health and safety on site, ensuring compliance with all aspects of London Undergrounds Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Management System (SHEQ). Custodian with all aspects of site safety rules related to Greenwich Power Station (excluding HV rules).
- Contract Management of all plant maintenance and service contracts required for operational maintenance of the station. Manage Contractors to ensure that works are completed to the required quality and standard. Liaise with Contractors to ensure that their health and safety processes are in line with London Undergrounds and Greenwich procedures. Review and approve Contractor's risk assessments and method statements.
- Management of the building maintenance work programme and allocated new works, (R&U) projects including the preparation of workscope and specification. Liaise with London Underground Engineering, & Project staff to ensure timely delivery of design and other technical solutions.
- Liaise with the Environmental Agency to provide them with emissions monitoring and reporting data. Delivery of environmental improvement programmes.
- Management of all data required for Plant Statistical information, Environmental performance and Government Agencies.
- Provide various management reports on work and maintenance programmes including Plant Availability, Full Load Trips, Start Failures, Maintenance Performance, System Testing Performance and Environmental compliance.
- Maintain local management systems to achieve an optimum level of performance. Review and update of the stations Operational and Engineering Work Instructions. Site Management of the Asset Management System (Ellipse).
- Management of the staff shift rota and organisation and control of the competency of all station staff, including all ongoing training and assessment to ensure station operational availability.
Qualifications/experience:
- Minimum qualification of a Higher National Diploma or Degree in either an Electrical, Control and Instrumentation or Mechanical Engineering discipline.
- High voltage experience.
- Hold IOSH/NEBOSH Managing Safety Certificate.
- Possess Power station or electrical supply industry knowledge
- Working knowledge of safe systems of work/safety rules.
- Experience in the operation of rotating generation plant, generators and ancillary plant/equipment.
- Experience of planned and reactive maintenance on Electrical, Control and Instrumentation and Mechanical plant/equipment and systems.
- Practical knowledge of pressure systems regulations (PSSR), LOLER, DSEAR (ATEX).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven IT skills - with the ability to produce, record and process data and information.
- You will have supervisory/line management skills.
- Calm under pressure, proactive and resourceful.
