Procurement Manager in Swindon, Wiltshire, United Kingdom
Our client, a rail infrastructure company is currently looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to work on a long-term contract basis located in their offices in Swindon. The Procurement Manager is required to implement and monitor agreed strategies for the commodity area including development of individual contracts and undertaking procurement, negotiation and contracting.
The Procurement Manager will be required to complete the following tasks/duties;
* Looking after and facilitating all procurement activity across the Signalling, Power and Communications portfolio.
* Procurement of goods as well as services.
* Issuing tenders.
* Providing post contract commercial management support.
* Targeting specific goods, services and/or suppliers to identify how improvements can be made in the procurement of these goods/services.
* Undertake regular contract management meetings with key stakeholders and suppliers.
Candidates will have the following experience/qualifications;
* Previous experience working on large scale rail projects in a project procurement role.
* MCIPS.
* Knowledge of EU legislation.
* Maintaining successful relationships with suppliers.
* Strong negotiation skills.
