Samuel Knight are looking for an IT Procurement manager in the London area.
We are offering an attractive salary with a great bonus package.
Purpose of the job:
- As Procurement Manager you will have responsibility for individual elements of procurement activity, working with departments to ensure that they follow best practice and deliver best value for the business through all procurement activities.
- You will work to deliver procurement exercises primarily (but not exclusively) related to IT systems. You will also support a wide range of other procurement and contract activities.
- You will support internal stakeholders by establishing, monitoring and enforcing SLA’s
- You will work to support the Senior Procurement Manager and Head of Supply Chain
- You will be an integral part of our Supply Chain team where you will hold key responsibilities associated with delivery and success of each procurement exercise, as well as the delivery of wider strategic objectives.
Key Accountabilities:
- Manage timely delivery of procurement activities with various procuring departments in a devolved procurement environment.
- Ensure all procurement activity is efficiently sequenced by maintaining forward work plans that ensures appropriate internal and external resources are available to support procurement and business objectives delivery.
- Develop strategies to ensure that cost savings and supplier performance targets are met - or exceeded (ensure ‘continuous improvement’ is designed in).
Experience, knowledge and qualifications required:
- MCIPS qualified.
- Proven success working as a time-served & experienced Procurement Officer/Senior Buyer or Procurement Manager.
- Strong understanding of both public and private sector procurement, including the application of Utilities Contract Regulations (or Public Contracts Regulations).
- Extensive experience of carrying out procurement activity relating to: · Software/Licencing · IT Services · SaaS · Hardware · Infrastructure (Telecoms & Networking) · Information security/ Data Protection
- Experience of guiding non procurement staff through the procurement process to deliver (devolved procurements) for both business needs and positive commercial outcomes.
Experience of working within a TOC or Rail environment (desirable).

· Contracted for 5 days a week in the office - but we do have a Hybrid system in place minimum of 3 days in the office/route but this can change depending on business needs.
