Programme Delivery Director
Role Summary: Ensuring that an integrated approach is taken across the programme as a whole and that the phased outputs meet their associated requirements. Key elements of the work will be to obtain the necessary consents to construct the railway and to determine the appropriate capital delivery model for each element of the programme
Day to day you will:
- Be accountable for capital delivery of the railway to time, cost and quality
- Own the delivery relationship with Network Rail for the sections of the railway that they have been engaged to deliver, and drive their performance to support the overall programme requirements
- Support the development of the business case for the entire EWR scheme
- Be accountable for ensuring that EWR meets or exceeds industry best practice with respect to safety, sustainability and innovation
- Manage the overall Development Consent Order process
- Manage activities associated with the acquisition and management of land requirements.
- Define the capital delivery strategy
- Establish and own the integrated delivery baseline and manage control change, governance and approvals within delegations of authority
- Lead cost, risk and schedule management for the capital delivery programme, and monitor and manage the performance of suppliers
- Engage with the operations team to integrate the capital delivery and future operations strategies
- Manage and direct a team with matrixed ways of working
- Be accountable for the development of processes, definition of system requirements and management of associated data
- Take responsibility for your own and others' Health and Safety
Apply if you have:
- Experience in the management of multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects through design, construction, and handover into operation.
- Experience in leading and undertaking the process for obtaining relevant powers for scheme delivery
- Knowledge of and experience in the design and management of private finance contracts
- Strong business and commercial awareness
- The ability to effectively organise and staff a team, and complete work in a matrix organisation
- Experience in providing professional advice and assurance to delivery teams and third party suppliers
- Experience of delivering innovation in an engineering and technical environment
- Experience of resolving and escalating risks, issues and conflicts where necessary
- Knowledge of leading and undertaking constructability reviews
- Degree or equivalent (engineering/project management preferable)
- Chartered or Incorporated engineer or equivalent (preferable)
