Programme Manager PMO – London - £75,000 per annum

My client is looking for a PMO Manager who will be responsible for delivering a programme of works that aligns with both corporate objectives and legal obligations of operating rolling stock.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a functional PMO organisation within the International Rolling Stock business against an approved strategy and delivery plan.
  • Review and restructure operational and technical processes and procedures that allow a PMO department to function efficiently and transparently. An understanding of Quality Standards under ISO9001:2015 and Asset Management Standards to ISO55001 is necessary to ensure the safety management system and obligations under ROGS and ECM Regulations.
  • Set realistic and practical goals for the PMO to develop appropriate strategies for achieving these goals.
  • Identify all the internal and external resources whether financial or human resources required for a) completing the PMO programme successfully and b) delivery of specific projects and programmes through the PMO
  • Develop and execute an efficient internal communication strategy for ensuring communication with all levels of management within the team and across the business to board level.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to the team members about every aspect of the projects so that the team members can understand their tasks fully and act on them efficiently.
  • Develop and deliver project management programmes within the PMO, encompassing all the details of a projects to team members, leading the delivery of assignments in the Rolling Stock Projects team.

About you:

  • Experience of PMO functionality and working within a Rolling Stock Engineering business.
  • To be knowledgeable of Quality Standards: ISO9001:2015; Asset Management Standards: ISO55001; Risk Management Standards: ISO31000.
  • Experience with Rolling Stock business Safety Management Systems including ROGS (UK) and Railway Interoperability Regulations (EU).
  • A strong track record of delivery of rolling stock projects from Business Case through to Project Completion and Lessons Learnt.
  • Proven experience in the management and delivery of complex and diverse projects.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Confidence in a complex and ambiguous working environment with the ability to chair meetings
  • The ability to identify risks, issues and problems, define solutions and resolve conflicts.

The role is based in London and they’re offering a salary of between £60,000 and £75,000 per annum, depending on the level of experience.
