Samuel Knight are looking for Risk Managers of all levels to work on major rail projects around the UK.

Your mission
Provide specialist project risk management services to the project team, including schedule and cost quantitative risk analysis, risk identification and review workshops, maintenance of risk registers and risk reporting. Ensure appropriate information is provided to allow programme risk and assurance activities. Mentor and support senior project management in the concept of risk management and more junior members of the risk team in technical risk delivery.
KEY ORGANISTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports into the Programme Controls Lead for the project to which they have been assigned.
- Work with planning and commercial project team members to provide advice on appropriate levels of contingency to fund risk impact and mitigation activities.
- Work with other project team members (including engineering disciplines and construction) to balance risk exposure and mitigation in line with key project objectives.
- Work closely with the Risk Lead to implement and provide best practice project risk management services and to enable programme approaches to risk management.
- Participate in and provide information to the change management process and value management activities.
- Provide risk management information as defined in the Risk Management Plan to Project Managers and Project Directors.
- Work with and support the TRU Delivery, Owner and PMO teams.
Who are we looking for?
Essential
- Expert in all aspects of project risk management with a high level of knowledge about project cost, commercial and planning.
- Expert in building complex schedule and cost risk models in a number of applications.
- Relevant experience in the successful delivery of major projects of work in the UK infrastructure sector including specific rail industry knowledge.
- Able to coach and challenge management and non-specialists.
- Capable of managing, coaching and supporting more junior members of the team, where applicable.
Desirable
- Member of a relevant professional body with chartered status and/or educated to degree level.
- Knowledge of/experience in Alliancing.
- Experienced in Value Management
