We have a vacancy for an experienced SHEQ Manager to join our great Rail team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced principal rail contractor operating throughout Wales.
Due to the nature of the projects involved, you will need at least 5 years Rail sector knowledge & experience, a proven track record of developing, implementing & integrating safety procedures and key stakeholder management experience.
Person Specification
·Technical Degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent (OHS Diploma / NVQ 5 in OSH)
·Chartered Status (CMIOSH) would be preferred.
·H&S regulations and legislations
·Competent Auditor & Trained Risk Assessor
·Lead Investigator (IOSH/TOPSET or equivalent)
·Able to prepare H&S reports and subsequent analysis related to leading/lagging indicators and trends
·Managing environmental responsibilities
·Adept at establishing and maintaining productive and open relationships with stakeholders and customers
·Self-starting approach to prioritising issues to meet the business requirement
·Good communicator at all levels, both oral and written
·Effective time management
·Results orientated and committed to the work undertaken
·Demonstrates polite, enthusiastic, helpful, and professional approach at all times
·Behavioural / Collaboration knowledge
Key Responsibilities
·Provide pro-active support in the implementation of the Company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
·Train and guide staff on new working methods, procedures, and instructions.
·Regularly visit the various depots in the UK to review if the H&S procedures meet the current & future operational requirements.
·Manage any practices contrary to those considered to be acceptable.
·Conduct accident investigations and reporting should any accident occur.
·Prepare/assist in Health and Safety audits. Liaise with clients directly regarding Health & Safety matters.
·Monitor implementation of health and safety risk controls and report Key Performance Indicators. Provide advice on health and safety compliance.
·Identify opportunities to continuously improve health and safety performance and support with developing and implementing those opportunities.
·Engage staff of all levels in making health and safety improvements, demonstrating enthusiasm, and modelling positive safety behaviours.
